What Do You See?

Dr. Jennifer adjusting Santa Claus.

When you walk into our office on a busy afternoon and the place is hopping, what do you see? There are three people signing in. The adjustment seats are full. A family of six just went to table one. There is a buzz in the air and an unmistakable energy. What do you think?

“Oh man, the docs are busy. It’s going to be a few minutes.”

Or do you look around … and smile. Do you think to yourself…

“That’s my accountant going in to get adjusted. There’s my daughter’s school bus driver getting “her power turned back on”, or that’s a policeman, making sure that he’s at the top of his game.”

Do you wonder if it’s going to be 5 or 6 minutes to wait, or do you find comfort in knowing that your kids’ principal is in our office, the local emergency room doctor, the school nurse, and your paper boy.

Are you annoyed by the squirming child next to you? Or are you happy that he is no longer on antibiotics? Do you see an older man taking too much time to get off a table, or do you see someone who is getting help without having to take another drug?

This is not a clinic. This is the headquarters of a movement.

Each person in this office is part of your community. A community that desperately needs changing. Each person is the embodiment of a generation of people looking for a better way. Enjoy a smile to yourself when you look at other patients. They are smiling for you.

I believe that a transformation takes place over time visiting your office and getting my power turned on. I was that impatient patient for the better part of my years attending. But lately, I see a warm patience coming over me when I am at the office. Maybe its the confidence that my turn will come. Maybe its the comfort that no harm is being done to me while I wait. Maybe it is the amazement that I am catching onto something great and different and how it should be even more crowded with others like me.
It is also very possible that the friendly staff and other patients are making me feel comfortable and confident while I wait for my power.
I know that it is all good and I am happy to wait my turn.
I am happy to be a part of Spinal Corrective Center.

I recently changed the time of my appointment to work better for my daughter’s nap time. I now come at a time when the office is not busy at all. At first I thought this was great, but after coming a few times at 8:45 I realized that even though I don’t know the other 10:30 “friends” that I was waiting with I miss seeing them and wonder how they are doing. Everyone was always so friendly to me and Abby. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for me to go back to 10:30 right now, but maybe it will again someday.
Also I have to say that no matter how many people are there, I never feel rushed. I always feel Abby and I are cared for and that makes SCC a wonderful place to be!

It’s not often “busy” when I come in, but in the times it is “busy” it helps remind me to SLOW DOWN! Take a few minutes to read something, or just relish that all these people have found “the secret” to innate healing! Before I know it, I’m getting my power turned on. I’m not just healthier since returning to chiropractic care, but I’m happier and have an inner calm (I rarely feel “rushed”) that I don’t think I’ve ever known. Thanks!!!

As a new patient I am loving the experience of being in both the “busy” and slower times. I love the sense of community that is being fostered. I like feeling that I am a part of something that is more tha just my personal reality.

Thanks and I can’t wait to see more of what there is to see!
